Pre-School

For Children’s Centres and Libraries

We offer storytelling training for ‘Songs and Rhymes’ workshop leaders in Children’s Centres and Libraries. Learn a range of performance and interactive skills that incorporate specific learning outcomes for babies and toddlers; that emphasise and highlight skills’ transfer for parents and carers; that incorporate stories; that introduce books and pictures; that integrate the whole session through a fluid unified narrative that gives structure, progression, momentum and development. Learn strategies to give your session unity and purpose, increasing concentration from all participants. Turn that Rattle Bag of shared moments into a rhythmic fluid Chinese Dragon of story.

We have storytellers who have led such work for many years. They run CPD sessions with workshop leaders, and demonstrate practice with children and parents.

There are also simple development milestones for babies and toddlers that interested parents can track, or workshop leaders observe. For some parents and carers it gives a structure they appreciate. For organisations it can give evaluative feedback that funders need.
