Biographies
Brian Moses
began writing as a teacher, and performing his poems to schools. He is now one of Britain’s best loved children’s poets, and has had over 180 books published. Brian’s poetry isn’t something that just sits on the page. It is brought to life using a variety of voices, movements and percussion instruments - talking drums, spring drums, tambours, claves, bells, shakers and brushes. It is an energetic presentation with fun audience participation. He has presented his Poetry & Percussion Show across Europe. Jacqueline Wilson writes of Brian’s performances - ‘I think he’s wonderful.’ ‘Taking Out the Tigers’ was a National Poetry Society recommended title in Spring 2005. Brian was one of 10 children’s poets invited by the Poet Laureate, Andrew Motion, to feature on the National Poetry Archive website - launched in November 2005.

Wes Magee has written more than eighty books for children, including poetry, stories, plays, picture books and anthologies. He has performed his highly interactive poems in venues across England. Many of the poems are based on Wes’ experience in schools, both as teacher and pupil. Wes wrote his first works when a boy in his class complained that there were no dinosaur poems. He now writes full time, producing poems (for adults too), stories and plays from a hut at the bottom of a large wild garden in the North York Moors. He can be heard on the Poetry Archive website, and is a Children’s poetry book selector for the Poetry Book Society.
