I bring twenty years teaching experience, at first in secondary, and then in the primary school sector, and then as a head teacher.
I have visited over a hundred and fifty schools to perform my work and run writing workshops for children in Key Stages 1,2 and 3.
I guarantee a lively interactive full day, and poems galore, starting with a half hour poetry show for all the Key Stage in an assembly. The props, costumes, scenery, puppets, voices and songs bring the poetry to life for the young ones.
A fun sheet, often with a poem of mine, helps children to explore how a poem is made – and children are encouraged to write their own poem in a similar style.
I have written poems for children for ten years, and have been widely published in anthologies. My mainstream poems are widely published in literary magazines and have appeared in Stand, PN Review, Smiths Knoll, and The London Magazine.
