Philip Caveney
I write exciting fantasy fiction for children aged 9 years and up. My best known series features would-be jester, Sebastian Darke. The first two books, Prince of Fools and Prince of Pirates are currently available and a 3rd adventure, Prince of Explorers will be released in February 09. I also have a series featuring 15 year old archaeologist, Alec Devlin. His first adventure The Eye Of The Serpent was released in September 08 and there are at least two more adventures to follow.
Author visits
I usually work on an events basis, which can work well with groups up to 250. Ideal age groups 9 – 12 years. A session lasts around an hour and features a talk, a reading, Q & A and a book signing (books can be brought along and offered at discounted prices). However, I am also happy to do writing workshops with smaller groups (up to 15) of motivated children.

Three comments from Blackburn Library Event
‘I thought your book was exiting and funny, especially because of Max endlessly complaining about any trivial thing! My favourite part of the book was probably all the merchants and king jokes/insults and magical disappearing act at the court. I think the book will be very successful and I hope there will be lots more to come. Formby High hopes that you will come back next year to answer more questions about your second book.
Thomas, Formby High School
