kathryn-white.jpgKathryn has written a range of children’s books from picture books to ghost/ and mystery stories for older children.  She also has a series of board/ puppet books for pre-toddlers, linked to her own activities specifically designed for the very young.
Her first title, published by Oxford University Press - WHEN THEY FIGHT, was placed on the Notable Book for Social Studies list in the US.
It deals with the subject of marital conflict.  Kathryn’s lyrical text, combined with Cliff Wright’s beautiful illustrations, produced a gentle story that allowed children to explore and discuss their feelings during times of stress.
Her second picture book/cd - HERE COMES THE CROCODILE was shortlisted for the Sheffield and Nottingham children’s book awards.
It is a humorous tale about a group of clever jungle animals foiling Crocodile’s attempts to eat them.
In 2003, Kathryn donated her poem, A Mother’s War Song to Lines in the Sand, an anthology on War and Peace, edited by Mary Hoffman and Rhiannon Lassiter for Francis Lincoln.  She also contributed to the 366 Anthology of short stories for Scholastic and the National Year of Reading.
Kathryn also reviews books and tutors for local authorities and agencies.  Her workshops for schools are highly creative for classes up to KS 2.
Kathryn also works as a tutor for HMP Shepton Mallet.
She has performed at the Edinburgh, Sheffield and Nottingham festivals and is a regular contributor to the Bath Children’s Literary Festival.
