Ian Billings was born at a very early age. Since then he has written over 40 professional pantomimes featuring stars such as Cannon and Ball, Little and Large, Julie Goodyear, Sylvester McCoy and Timmy Mallett. He also has enormous experience as an actor, juggler and teacher and has directed major national tours of children’s classics such as “Wind in the Willows” and “Pinocchio.” For the rest of the year Ian can be found hiding in his office writing children’s books for Pan Macmillan or TV shows such as “ChuckleVision” or scurrying about performing stand-up comedy for kids in theatres and arts centres world wide – “Ian Billings – Out of His Mind!” following its hugely successful season at the Gilded Balloon at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. And when he’s not doing that he’s either feeding his goldfish or sleeping.

I’ll be returning to the Edinburgh Festival for my third year (this time with Chris White) in a show we’re devising called “The Line Kings”

Workshops

IAN BILLINGS M.A. is a highly experienced educationalist with twenty years experience touring the UK and Europe delivering writing workshops and comedy into schools, arts centres and theatres. He is a hugely accomplished children’s writer of over 40 professional pantomimes, five books, numerous stage plays and CBBC’s “ChuckleVision.” Ian offers whole school opportunities for input into literacy and formats for individualised learning. All workshops are self-contained and require the school hall.
