A Writer in your School

As a charity set up by teachers, we understand the school system and believe passionately that there is a writer that is perfect for every school.

We will look for a writer or storyteller who is…

  • within your school’s budget
  • geographically near to you, to minimise travel expenses
  • a good match for your audience’s age and needs

Or call and email us directly…

To help us get back to you promptly and accurately please include this information in your email…

  1. Your name
  2. The name of your school and your school’s address including postcode
  3. Borough, county or Local Authority
  4. Telephone
  5. The audience for your writer/storyteller visit (Reception, KS1, KS2, Secondary, etc.)
  6. Any theme or focus
  7. Any dates you have in mind

We will contact you and…

  • We will send you some profiles of writer/storytellers who might suit your school.
  • We will try to offer you a choice of writer/storytellers who are reasonably local to you to keep travel costs down unless you specifically request a particular writer.

Then, if you decide to book a writer visit…

  • We will check the author’s availability and make a booking.
  • We will make all the arrangements and invoice you establishing a contract with the writer to protect all parties from cancellation costs.  We have 20 years of experience at successfully arranging author visits.
  • We will arrange for the writer to contact you at least two weeks in advance of the visit to discuss details of the day.
